Respect Privacy

Data Privacy Day is celebrated annually on January 28th to commemorate the January 28, 1981, signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding international treaty on privacy and data protection.  The  International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA) have expanded this event to mark Data Privacy Week.  This year, Data Privacy Week is celebrated January 21st through January 27th.

University of Chicago and University of Chicago Medicine are jointly celebrating Data Privacy Week to raise awareness and promote privacy and data protection best practices.
